When Blicca and Aurora meet to have fun — sharing blocks across Plone's two UI's
Aurora, the upcoming successor to Volto, brings an editing experience users love: complex content compositions built from blocks, assembled with ease. Meanwhile, Blicca — the well-known UI that Plone grew up with — keeps evolving, steadily improved by an active community.

Today, Blicca offers several solutions for achieving similar results, but they don't quite reach the level of what Aurora and Volto provide. Worse, development of these add-ons is scattered and happens completely separately from the Aurora efforts — duplicated work, divided energy.
This talk shows a way forward: using Aurora blocks natively in Blicca, reusing most of the upstream work, and bringing both development teams closer together. Future block development can be shared between Aurora and Blicca users instead of happening twice.
Like many interesting things, this started as a slightly crazy idea — but it's now proven to work, and it's bringing new energy and synergies into this space.
The talk is aimed at all audiences — no deep technical knowledge required — and includes a live demo showing what's already possible today.
