The Little Book of Plone
This talk is the first public presentation of an idea that has been growing in my mind over the last few months: The Little Book of Plone. Not a complete history, and certainly not the definitive history, but a place where we begin documenting the software, the people, the milestones, and the decisions that shaped Plone over the last twenty-five years.

Earlier this year, during a Plone sprint, I realised how much of that history exists only in the memories of long-time contributors. As Plone celebrates its 25+ years of existence and the community discusses its future governance and organisational structure, understanding how we got here becomes increasingly important. New contributors inherit not only a codebase, but also a community, its culture, and decades of technical and organisational decisions.
During this session I’ll present the first draft of The Little Book of Plone: a growing collection of stories, timelines, software milestones, community events, and turning points in both Plone and the wider web. My hope is that this talk marks the beginning of a community project—one that helps us preserve our history, understand our present, and make better decisions about our future together.
