How Blicca came to be: Renaming Classic UI

At the Buschenschanksprint in May 2026, we gave Classic UI a new name: Blicca. We introduced the new name through an AI-generated technical podcast episode. Now we want to share that episode—and the story behind Blicca—with you in Maastricht at the Plone Conference.

After exploring many possibilities and holding plenty of discussions, we chose Blicca in keeping with the Zope community's tradition of fish-inspired project names.
