Attracting, recruiting, and retaining contributors to free and open source software (FOSS) has always been a challenge. There's usually no tangible incentive, and other rewards are few and far between.

    The Python Calendaring Ecosystem (PCE) team develops and maintains icalendar and other calendar-related FOSS Python packages. But that's just an excuse for something more important in the age of AI. This talk will discuss how the PCE team collaborates to encourage contributions from first-timers and experienced developers.
